Khi bạn bắt đầu xây dựng một website, có hai thứ quan trọng nhất bạn cần chuẩn bị, một là tên miền (domain) và hai là hosting. Nếu ở bài viết trước các bạn đã biết tên miền là “địa chỉ nhà” giúp mọi người tìm đến bạn trên Internet, thì trong bài viết này, mình sẽ giải thích cho bạn biết hosting là gì? Một số loại hosting phổ biến nhất hiện nay và cách đăng ký hosting chi tiết nhất từ A – Z. Cùng bắt đầu với mình ngay bên dưới nhé!
Hosting là gì?
Nếu tên miền là “địa chỉ nhà” trên Internet, thì hosting chính là mảnh đất nơi ngôi nhà (website) của bạn được xây dựng. Nói dễ hiểu, hosting (hay web hosting) là nơi lưu trữ toàn bộ dữ liệu của website — bao gồm hình ảnh, bài viết, mã nguồn, video… để khi người khác truy cập vào tên miền của bạn, họ có thể xem được nội dung website.
Khi bạn gõ một địa chỉ như myblog.vn, trình duyệt sẽ tìm đến máy chủ hosting chứa website đó và hiển thị cho bạn thấy mọi thứ: giao diện, bài viết, hình ảnh… Vì vậy, hosting là yếu tố bắt buộc nếu bạn muốn website hoạt động trên môi trường Internet.
Nói một cách dễ hiểu, Hosting sẽ giúp bạn:

Hiện nay có khá nhiều loại hosting khác nhau và mỗi loại sẽ phù hợp với từng nhu cầu riêng. Nếu bạn là người mới tiếp cận về WordPress cũng đừng lo lắng, mình sẽ giải thích thật dễ hiểu để bạn biết nên chọn loại hosting nào cho phù hợp nhất.
#1. Shared Hosting
Đây là loại hosting phổ biến nhất hiện nay, đặc biệt dành cho người mới bắt đầu tập làm web. Với Shared Hosting, nhiều website sẽ cùng sử dụng chung một máy chủ và chia sẻ tài nguyên như CPU, RAM, dung lượng lưu trữ.
Ưu điểm: Giá rẻ, dễ sử dụng, không cần kỹ thuật; Được nhà cung cấp cài đặt sẵn mọi thứ, bạn chỉ cần “đăng nhập và dùng” là xong.
Nhược điểm: Không phù hợp với website có lượng truy cập lớn.

#2. VPS Hosting
VPS (Virtual Private Server) là máy chủ ảo riêng biệt, mạnh mẽ hơn Shared Hosting. Bạn vẫn dùng chung một máy chủ vật lý, nhưng có phần tài nguyên riêng, không bị ảnh hưởng bởi website khác.
Ưu điểm:
- Hiệu suất ổn định hơn, tốc độ nhanh hơn Shared Hosting
- Bạn có quyền cài đặt và tùy chỉnh theo nhu cầu
Nhược điểm:
- Chi phí cao hơn Shared Hosting
- Cần có kiến thức kỹ thuật để quản lý VPS

#3. Cloud Hosting
Cloud Hosting là loại hosting sử dụng nhiều máy chủ kết nối với nhau thành hệ thống đám mây. Nếu một máy chủ gặp sự cố, hệ thống sẽ tự động chuyển sang máy khác để website vẫn hoạt động.
Ưu điểm:
- Tốc độ ổn định, dễ mở rộng khi website phát triển
- Độ an toàn cao, ít khi bị gián đoạn
Nhược điểm:
- Giá cao hơn so với Shared Hosting
- Quản lý phức tạp hơn đối với người mới

Hướng dẫn cách đăng ký hosting
#Bước 1: Chọn nhà cung cấp uy tín
Trước tiên, bạn cần tìm nhà cung cấp hosting đáng tin cậy. Những đơn vị uy tín sẽ giúp bạn đảm bảo quyền sở hữu, hỗ trợ kỹ thuật nhanh và thanh toán an toàn.

#Bước 2: Chọn gói hosting phù hợp
Mỗi nhà cung cấp đều có nhiều gói hosting khác nhau, tùy theo quy mô website. Nếu bạn mới bắt đầu làm blog, website giới thiệu, hoặc shop bán hàng online nhỏ, chỉ cần chọn gói hosting cơ bản như Starter / Pro là đủ, mức giá thường dao động từ 400k – 1.500k / năm.
#Bước 3: Đăng ký hotsing và thanh toán
Ở bước này, bạn cần xác nhận tên miền (domain) sẽ gắn với hosting. Nếu bạn đã có tên miền, chỉ cần chọn “Tôi đã có tên miền” và nhập vào lúc đăng ký hosting.

Trước khi thanh toán, bạn hãy xem kỹ: Gói hosting bạn chọn, thời hạn đăng ký (thường là 1 năm, có thể chọn thời gian ngắn hơn hoặc dài hơn nếu muốn), giá đăng ký và phí gia hạn hằng năm (Nếu bạn có mã giảm giá hoặc khuyến mãi, hãy nhập vào ngay ở bước này để tiết kiệm chi phí).
Tiếp theo, hệ thống sẽ yêu cầu bạn nhập thông tin đăng ký để tạo tài khoản quản lí tại nhà cung cấp, thường sẽ bao gồm các thông tin như họ và tên, địa chỉ email, số điện thoại và địa chỉ…
Cuối cùng, bạn hãy chọn phương thức thanh toán phù hợp. Hầu hết các nhà cung cấp đều hỗ trợ nhiều hình thức thanh toán trực tuyến như: Thẻ ngân hàng nội địa (ATM / Internet Banking), Thẻ quốc tế (Visa / MasterCard), Ví điện tử (Momo, ZaloPay, PayPal…)…
#Bước 4: Xác nhận đơn hàng
Sau khi thanh toán thành công, bạn sẽ nhận được email xác nhận đăng ký hosting thành công từ nhà cung cấp. Trong email này thường sẽ có các thông tin cơ bản như:
- Thông tin cơ bản của gói hosting
- Thông tin đăng nhập trang quản trị hosting
- Thông tin sever và địa chỉ IP của hosting
Lưu ý: Sau khi bạn đăng ký tên miền và hosting thành công, hai thứ này vẫn chưa tự kết nối với nhau. Vì vậy, bạn truy cập vào tên miền sẽ không được và sẽ nhận được thông báo lỗi. Do đó, bạn cần phải “trỏ tên miền về hosting”, tức là kết nối tên miền với máy chủ nơi lưu trữ website mà bạn đã đăng ký để website có thể hoạt động.
